Digital Resources
Digital Resources help augment instructional opportunities in the classroom. DIGITAL RESOURCE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Technical requirements include both involve system compatibility and data security. The following considerations should be considered when requesting a digital resource:
Resources that require SSO through Google, require an LTI or API, or any other integration with an existing platform must be approved by the Technology Director
When obtaining new resources, time to deploy and manage the resource can be a constraint. This varies from resource to resource.
Resources must allow purchasing through a Purchase Order on NET TERMS.
Resources that require automatic subscription renewal or purchasing through procurement or credit cards are not allowed.
Resources must be compatible with Chromebooks or the devices on which they will be deployed. Please consider that we have students who use a wide variety of devices for accessibility purposes. Resources must be compatible with all types of devices that the students in the instructional group use.
DIGITAL RESOURCE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
The following items should be considered when requesting resources:
Surveys and student questionnaires are subject to the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment ("PPRA").
Resources used by students under age 13 must be Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule ("COPPA") compliant.
Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") compliance should be considered in all instructional environments.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") requires that all resources that collect information on educational records (projects, quiz results, writing samples, personally identifiable information, etc) be compliant with FERPA. In most cases, a legal agreement will need to be in place with the vendor.
